2012 Pradopoint GTG ?

This actually was discussed at the meeting the other night, more in relation to a relative of a committee member who might like to come and doesn't even have a Toyota. I don't know that we really decided what the story with non Prado's would be, Sponsors without Prado's were deemed acceptable. Given that you are a long standing PP member and a member of the organising committee from the previous GTG I am sure we could let you come along in a Hilux. So long as you understand that if you get stuck somewhere that a Prado doesn't we are going to rag on you for the rest of the trip

Thanks Andrew,...handy to know, but I'm still deciding atm. Just to add I do remember a PP Member on the 2009GTG "in the red centre" trip, turn up in a new V8 LC70series ute. I do remember this WA member had only just made the change to the Ute prior to GTG,.. no one seemed to mind either.

Looking at the positive side,...I'll be able to do those firewood runs.

Yes Wooley, b4 my 120 I had an 05 model lux.....got it when the newshape came out.
Getting hold of a LC Prado rear door badge as a requirement to show my allegiance should be easy.
There's plenty on ebay for, $5-$10 max.

As said, am just getting some ideas at this stage on the next vehicle.
A new 2012 Hilux this time round is cheaper and more equiped than b4 and will leave some change in my pocket for plenty of added accessories.

Lets it be said there is nothing wrong with owning a Prado "UTE", there are several other owners in SA. I do beleive Matt knows of atleast one.

I guess I could always bring my Hilux to make you feel at home Stewy, and I could gaurantee we would get plenty of use out of the maxtrax and winches, mine is so old and underpwered it stalls trying to climb over ant hills. The old 2.4 litre naturally aspirated Diesel was a slug when it was new, 26 years and 600 thou on the clock haven't helped in the power stakes.

Oh dear God ... I've got the horrors now! A person puts their life on the line just getting into that thing! There should be a point at which you can say "enough is enough ... it would be kinder to put it out of it's misery" Euthenasia for utes?? Seriously ... it's an embarassment to the Toyota badge - I swear it blushes every time it leaves the driveway!!

I think a solution was if you are a member of PP then you are allowed on the trip. If you are a member of PP and don't own a prado you may attend. However, you will be the laughing stock and be prepared for daily insults. But, go ahead. Buy the Hilux

I'll gladly go in the Hilux on the firewood runs, that way you can drive, pay for the fuel, supply the handy Husqi chainsaw you have, clean up afterwards, all while I have a quiet ale in the co-drivers seat (Shotgun)
