I am relieved to see your comments about Google & their time requirements for some of these tracks, because according to them it's 14 hours & 19 mins to go from Windorah to Innamincka, a distance of 455 km. Some of the other legs seem too be fairly excessive in the times given also.
Traveling with young children, I would like to keep the daily legs to about 8 hours per day or less. Having never traveled these roads, nor talked to anyone who has, I have been a bit uncertain to do so, without another vehicle.
I will have to try & find some more information. Do you or anyone else have any pointers for me please?
Cheers
Lawrie
We did Tibooburra to Thargominda in a day but it was a biggie. If you are going past the Noccundra pub it is well worth a stop, if your plans happen to change there is free camping on the river opposite the pub that is nice as well.

Thanks Richo,
I saw on exploroz.com/TrekNotes that Longreach to Innamincka was 13 hours 39 mins @ an average speed of 62.98 km/h to be exact.
That fits in with what you have said about Windorah to Innamincka & that is good to hear / read.
I am still tweaking it a bit, but if we go that way (which I am really trying to do, so we can rendezvous at Innamincka with the "MOB") it should be all go, as I was planning a stop at Windorah so the last leg to Innamincka should be a bit less than 8 hrs driving time.
Thank you for the confirmation though, much appreciated.
You can't get work to fund a fact finding mission to Sth Oz to see what sport they do play there, can you????
I think that it's got something to do with "SAND"
Cheers

+1. We camped on the Cooper when we headed out to the first GTG. It was a highlight of the trip. Not to mention, for a small town, Windorah has a surprising amount of stuff going on: Cooper creek, nature reserve, Red-red-red sand dunes at dusk, solar reflectors, interesting history. You'll be flat out fitting it all in .
