  • Thanks Sam,

As you can see from the banter we're very pleased to have you involved!

If the SA ARB boys cant make it I'm sure we could find room for you...
    Cheers

    • Sam - it would be great if one of you ARB guys could tag along on at least one of the sections of the GTG. Like 120D4D said, I think we can pull a few string to make this happen. There will be plenty of people keen to pick your ears about the ARB products etc etc. Would also be a great opportunity for ARB to show off some of their goodies. Oh, and of course, there's plenty of opportunities to get that nice 150 all muddy along the Border Track
      Diesel Prado with various things...

      • We might even pick your rig clean of goodies while you're not looking...

We all appreciate ARBs involvement with the GTG. Would be great to have you on a trip mate!!!

        • Haha, definitely won't be able to make this year's GTG. Will try and join in next year though for sure.

          Cheers, Sam.

          • Newsflash

            Newsflash! (aka teaser)

We have another confirmed sponsor! Given I am at work you will have to wait until tonight for the announcement, BUT, I am sure you will all be impressed! Must say though, I am amazed at the generousity shown by our sponsors. There is already some serious value that has been provided and the latest offering is no exception!

In the words of the famous (even if he was labor) Bob Hawke "any member or guest that doesn't support the sponsors is a bloody mongrel" Serious, they are the exact words.... as I remember them when we won the Americas cup.

            • Announcement Coz I couldn't wait.

Well Ladies & Gentlemen it is time to announce another sponsor for the 2012 GTG!

In keeping with the quality sponsors and brands we are very pleased to announce that one of the PradoPOINT GTG ICON SPONSORS is again coming on board for a third year in a row!
MAXTRAX will be supplying not 1, but 2 SETS of these Mandatory items in any quality recovery kit. Yes, that’s right, 2 sets and a locking kit also!

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE! These are not the ever reliable glow in the dark, in your face orange Maxies we all love and know, they are COLOURED!!!!!! (Well they were coloured until I swapped them with my orange ones J)….. ok the rest of the committee chucked the shits, they are coloured again. AND not only coloured but the coveted and covert
MULTICAM Maxtrax. Yes folks, perfect for the weekend warrior with the tuff-ass camo look. I kid you not. Who needs glow in the dark puke orange (Editor’s note: I have that colour and love them but need effect here ok) when you can have ones that would make even Rambo a proud man to own them. In fact when I spoke to Rambo and told him about these babies he said, and I quote “Wahajdufuifnmfvhfkfbfivnf, WTF where are my legs, I carn feeel my leggs, wm,kfcvyhftfrbfoikgfjgf, “sob, sob” dfuftgbdf, dats great man, I love those babies when the jeep got stuck in Rambo 37, and I rescued those vets for the 9th time man……)

A huge thanks from us and Rambo to Brad at Maxtrax for his continued support of the GTG’s!!!!!

Attendees are reminded that Maxtrax are a highly recommended item in your recovery kit if you are doing the 2012 GTG. We will be driving up some LARGE sandhills and sloppy mud on the border track and YOU (not we) will be needing them also on the days at Beachport and Robe. We are pretty confident on that given even AJ120 got bogged there, as did the rest of the committee. Yes folks, even I had 3 sets of Maxtrax going at one stage due to a hidden path marker and taking on an incline with a sharp drop off and nasty lean to the side. (Its ok, I had spare jocks).

If you don’t have Maxtrax of your own you should be aware that the use of a “mates” Maxtrax’s has been known to cost a carton of the owners choice!

              mlc

Footnote to those Queensland weekend warriors planning their attack on SA. These babies may just camoflauge you enough so we don't see you coming!

                    Dear Rev

I hear you volunteered to pick them up and bring them to the GTG IN THE ORIGINAL PACKETS, UNUSED, UNOPENED and hand them over in a brand new condition.

You can trust me MLC. I will be happy to take delivery of them, either pre GTG or when I win them, either way is ok with me.

Despite Aaron's very generous offer I had to turn him down. I'm not working for a forum of people sharing my interests in Prados, writing about build-ups, gettings sponsors related to our indutcry, promoting matters related to my favourite hobby and getting paid handsomely to do it all!..... hang on???

                          • I just got off Maxtrax's website to have a closer look at the Multicam Maxtrax. If you look at the rear of the picture of these bad boys (ie look from the back of your pc) you can see the following fine print: " WARNING, THESE MAXTRAX ARE APPROVED BY CHUCK NORRIS)"

The American Seals have confirmed they use them to recover their tanks when the going gets too hard.

That proves how tuff they are. Its lucky Mitch aint coming because his pink ones would just melt!

                            mlc

For all those that even contemplated looking at the back of their screens, you are beyond the help of modern medicine and should stop stealing valuable oxygen from the atmospere

Geez Rob, you count about as well as Wooley, this is the Fourth year that Maxtrax has been a sponsor of the Pradopoint GTG

Originally posted by MidLifeCrisis View Post

You are getting old Rob, apparantly your memory is starting to fail you, best take a couple of Bex and have a good lie down and hopefully your memory will return.

We did however have plenty of opportunities to use the Maxtrax whilst at Beachport, recovering evrything from Jeeps to a 200 series buried to the chassis rails, all easy recoveries with the Maxtrax Which I believe you can purchase through your local ARB store

Oh when can we tell them about the other really cool sponsors coming on board? Gee its all go behind the scenes at the moment!

                              Cheers Andrew

                              • If it wasnt for the Maxtrax some of us would still be stuck in the sand from a few of our trips.

Maxtrax save the day on the Border Track; even going up hill with a camper in tow!

This was a 6 Maxtrax recovery for MLC!

All these committee members used Maxtrax to get out of this pickle, although I still don't understand why they got bogged in the first place, its not like I had any problems getting through Bwaaaahahahaha.

And next time we went to the SE Boomer wanted to get in on the action (Mrs Boomer actually)

Is everyone seeing getting the message? The sand is soft and Maxtrax make life so easy!

                                Cheers Andrew
