Some of us are heading to Bendleby tomorrow for a recce.
Maxtrax are in their usual position on the roof rack, but probably wont need those. The ARB Fridge is keeping the food and drinks cold. And the Redarc SBI12 should keep the second battery topped up nicely.
Hopefully we get some good pics to whet your appetite for the main event in September!

It was a good weekend, damn cold though getting below zero overnight each night and some serious frost on things in the mornings including the water tap on our camper trailer being frozen solid this morning, but it is July so that was to be expected. Hopefully we get perfect weather for the GTG.
Just a few teasers of what you can expect come the GTG.
A standard 120 Prado with a very inexperienced driver (first off road trip) managed to get through this section no problems, however if you have traction control or lockers you can take the more adventurous line and get a few good pics for the album!
Those of us with "traction aids" all returned to this spot later to practice our wheel stands; just because it was so much fun!
Its rocky country, and parts are very steep, photos never do the terrain justice though.
More to come.

A very short bit of Video, just to give you a taste, not only rough rocky tracks that are steep, the drop off in either side is very steep and its a very long way down.

The plan at Bendleby is too start off with the easier sections and work our way up the difficulty scale so people can get a feel for how far they can go! The experienced rock hoppers amongst the group should handle everything in their stride but the hardest track at Bendleby is without a doubt Billygoat ridge, and this weekend it was a bit more chopped up than normal, so a bit harder than the last time I visited.
Despite a large holdup at the start of the track after a Pajero driver decided he had got out of his depth and turned around and came the wrong way down a one way track we managed to get all 4 Prados up and over Billygoats, including Wozclean in a standard Prado on their first off road excursion ever................. I do believe that a change of underwear was in order by the time they finished though.
Wooley, DJ and myself doing some track building to stop Wozclean cross axleing and loosing traction.
A bit further up the track a bit more cross axleing happening, with daylight running out and 2 other impatient groups behind us it was decided that a gentle tow over this section was the easiest way to get them up, so I hooked up the snatch and the slightest of pulls had them over the obstacle.
So if you come to the GTG and lack experience don't fear, if you are keen, we will get you through, just bring plenty of spare undies
Off course there is no pressure for anyone to do anything that they feel is beyond their skill level, and an easy exit for those wishing to opt out is available.
