For those that are seeking to live vicariously through the attendees of this trip we have set up a Facebook page. AJ has previously said he is waiting for a specific climatic event in Hell before he joins FB, for the rest of us including his beloved wife, this will be an easy way to load up pics and commentary of the days as coverage permits.

I believe that speific limati event has already occured - wasn't that the condition the Eagles put on them reforming before they would ever do another tour... And they did!!!

Just finished my last shift (leaving for the GTG later today) & as I was leaving work a very nice Red SS drove past & the letters on his number plate were GTG.

17 km later I pulled into a servo near home & there was the GTG car.

I tell ya, I'm goin' to the GTG.

Final Recce down the Border track completed, everything looks good through the mallee section (except the crops).

Beachport here we come

Well there is nothing like taking on the Border track alone, with a trailer, and then tackling the big dunes with no one to help if you get stuck And the results?

Have a look at how to handle the biggest dune on the Border Track, taking the toughest track, then go watch all the utube vids of people not making it

Someone was a bit excited!!!


Hutch- 2012 Prado 150, some TJM Kit.

3 people were excited, one was just a bit more vocal than the rest!

This is the warning before the first big dune.



Looks like the park ranger is aware of the upcoming trip and has adjusted the sign accordingly



And some stills on the same dune, and yes the trailer is hanging there on the back!



The real challenge now is, can I repeat it with the pressure of a heap of onlookers in a week or so's time?

What's with all of this Beer stuff,You are entering SA and the only drink in SA is.FAMERS UNION ICED COFFEE.There is more of this drunk here than any Beers in the whole of Australia,And the good thing is you still get the beer guts,but you don't get the hangover the next day.Although if you drink too much it will induce vomiting.But now it has a new player on the field and it is Dare Doubble Expresso mmmmm,The only problem with this is that it is made in Victoria,And we in SA have a thing about that state,Not the people in it just the State.Any way I will have an Engle full of the stuff as will Iantz,although he will be drinking the FamersUnion.

Beachport recce today was interesting to say the least! Some of the beaches we intended to drive no longer exist after a wild Winter, still pretty wild and wooley weather today as well.

Reversing for a kilometre down a soft beach this arvo was a new experience for me.



Quite a change after 2 perfect days in Ngarkat.

Off to check what we expect to be the hard option tomorrow, who knows what we might find.

I will have to find that fridge . I don't drink beer but iced coffee love it the misses tells me I drink to much of the stuff . Something about all that sugar that makes you fat .
