Hi GTG Committee, just checking on places to do a resupp of food supplies. Loxton was mentioned (Does the public holiday effect this?) also Beach Port is this correct?
Pub / Club nights. Loxton is one, are there any other nights planned?
Just double checking that we have all meals covered.
Otherwise we will have to all go to MLC's for dinner each evening.
Cheers

Dear Rev
Lea is a fantastic and very tolerant companion. She has an abundance of qualities, is very understanding and at one with nature. However, she CANNOT cook, ANYTHING, she burns water, am I making this clear?
You can restock in Loxton and Beachport as required. Coopers Pale Ale may be in short supply in loxton despire Ondaboat preordering a pallet of the stuff.
We have a sponsored BBQ cook up on the Friday night thanks to NORTHPOINT TOYOTA.
We have a BBQon the Thursday night at Beachport (I think)
We are doing a pub dinner at Loxton. PS I heard a rumour we may need to buy Bingo cards from Trish's Croquette club at loxton. Also they run a fundraising event where they raise money for the Royal Flying doctor service. It is a $1 kiss event. Sounds great right, well the average member age is 76 and they don't take no for an answer. If you pay $20 they promise not to slip the tongue in (but still do), oh and they have male members also. I see you laughing that your wife will also get attacked by some pensioner overstaying his/her time on this planet, but be warned, they all all blind and indisciminate about which sex they kiss. Last week while doing a Recce up that way cost me $120 bucks, AJ got away with $19.00 and a pash rash.........

Now for the sensible answer Rev,
You obviously can stock up berfore the start of the GTG where ever convenient, just be aware of the quarantine restrictions around bring fruit and veg into the Riverland (Loxton area) which is why we suggest Loxton as a good point to top up on food and fuel, and although only around 8000 people in the Loxton area it is still the largest town we will pass through on the trip.
We also plan for those that wish to have a meal at the Loxton club (also a Loxton pub but thats not where we are going) on the Monday night, we have checked and they are open even though it is a public holiday. Large dining room with attached indoor/outside playground for kids and meals around the usual prices for a country pub / club.
There are 3 supermarkets in Loxton, Woolworths, Foodland and IGA, all should be open on the Monday.
Loxton is also the best opportunity for fuel, its about halfway, everyone should be able to make it to Loxton comfortably and fueling up here should make it through the rest of the trip without issue (except the couple with gas if they don't want to run petrol).
Beachport is a very small town (around 600 people I think) but does offer the opportunity to grab more supplies if needed.
Our hope is co-ordinate as much as possible people stocking up on the Monday arvo in Loxton so we avoid unessesary delays with everyone wanting to stop in a different town to pick something up.
The 3 transit days will be big days, so keeping everyone on the same page will be important.
Cheers AndrewSo Long and Thanks for all the Fish!

As AJ (aka, Chairman, 2.I.C [if MrsAJ is there], The Big Kahuna) said, we've a lot of ground to cover on the transit days. If you're in my group, i'll be handing out empty bottles for toilet stops. That's right folks, A to B, straight through, although the odd payment or 'beverage', might persuade me to allow the group to stop for some fresh air and food
BUT THE STOP WILL BE TIMED
You get 60 seconds for number 1, 120 second for number 2s, and 155 seconds for number 3s.....
Seriously, here are the key points just for those wanting to check and double check.
• Be prepared to carry rubbish each day. Bendleby and the Border Track don’t have bins available for rubbish.
• Phone service will be limited in some places – Bendleby, the Border Track and the transit to Loxton
• Carry lunch/snacks each day or be prepared to make it quickly. The transit to Loxton may provide an opportunity to buy lunch.
• Toilet facilities – none on the Bendleby ranges tracks. One long-drop with lots of character on the Hungry Ranges side. Nothing on the Border Track – one long-drop at Red Bluff. Nothing on the day trips at Beachport.
• Participants need to have enough fuel for 600kms of traveling once they get to Bendleby; there are no planned fuel stops between Bendleby and Loxton. There are no shop-a-docket servo’s on the trip route that we’re aware of.
• Loxton is the chance to stock up on everything … food etc. It’s not compulsory, but we intend to have a night out at the Loxton Community Club on the Monday night. They have excellent facilities for kids (a covered playground, a movie room and game consoles). The meals are typical of pubs/clubs everywhere and the prices are reasonable.
• Quarantine restrictions – links on website.
• Starting times: on most days we would expect groups to be leaving between 8:30 and 9:30 (including transit days). You will have the opportunity each night to nominate what time-slot you’d like to leave in.
• Group format – we hope that participants will vary time slots occasionally so that they get the chance to meet as many people as possible OR AT LEAST PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO AVOID MLCs GROUP
.
• First and last night meals: the committee will be providing participants with a BBQ on both the first and last night of the GTG so you won’t need to cater for that (unless you’re a vegetarian). The first night BBQ will be donated and prepared by our sponsor Northpoint Toyota.Diesel Prado with various things...

I hope attendees have now realised that the rest of the committee are boring as hell. All I have heard from AJ and Ian is blah, blah, no toilet stops, blah blah, buy food, blah, blah, MLC is the messiah, blah, blah, Ian can't get up a sand hill, blah, blah, mlc recovered AJ twice in one day, blah, blah, mlc's 120 eats 150's for breakfast. Oh wait, that was me ....
To make it up I will sign your maps and allow each and every one of you to buy me a beer, except Rev, if they can't name the beer it can't b worth drinking.
PS PLEASE remember Australia says no to violence. No matter WHAT happens on the GTG...... just saying...
PPS, you all have to be in my group at least once, please ensure your insurance premiums are paid up.

For those that are seeking to live vicariously through the attendees of this trip we have set up a Facebook page. AJ has previously said he is waiting for a specific climatic event in Hell before he joins FB, for the rest of us including his beloved wife, this will be an easy way to load up pics and commentary of the days as coverage permits.
