  • And I'm knocking off at midday to spend a serious weekend working on the car..... Heck - even I'm having trouble sleeping because of the excitement and I'm not even leaving til Thursday!!

Drive safe all those leaving today and over the weekend!

    See you next week.

    • Lea has been confusing my excitement with incontenance. She bought a plastic cover for the bed, the lounge, the dining table..........

I'm not complaining, my cash for comments deal has run out, Tenor may have to declare insolvency given the number of adult nappies they were having to supply me.

Ian, you know she who must not be named is a force to reckon with. It is no coincidence that there is presntly no major cyclone named after her. The name is reserved for the "total end of life" event, nothing smaller.

P.S. I even remembered to bring the Hella prize.

                          • All joking aside. The GTG 2012 threads show a great spirit and enthusiasm for the event that is unfolding in its early stages. I feel lucky to be part of this event and truly hope it exceeds everyone's expectations, which is highly unlikely given my number 1 mandate will be to annoy the shite out of you good folk (all in good fun).

                            • Got the winch wired up... in between thunder storms.

BUT... I can't get the wire to spool up and fit on the drum.
By the time it's hitting the guides I still have 6 mtrs or so to go.
I've got it attached to a tree in my driveway but it's flat and there's no load on the wire. Any other way to get a load on it other than applying the handbrake or finding a bigger slope?
                              Cheers, Leon

                              • Hey Quicky, we've finally heard from you (or have you been posting somewhere that I missed.) Been wondering if you were still joining us in Cameron Corner. Doesn't sound like you're towing the van though. Look forward to meeting up again at the Corner on Tuesday 25th ready for the SA onslaught. Safe travels to you and to everyone else as we all begin to hit the road. It's gonna be great. (The Victorians will have a big job topping this next year - and making sure it doesn't clash with the Grand Final)
