Will see what happens but apparently have to very careful as an adult as it can lead to a brain infection.... No need for smart arse comments... So am expecting to see some great photos!
Bugger........ Well why can't you come? Just keep you distance, stay in your own swag, no sneaking in with Anders this time, & stay in your own vehicle.......
Well you definstly don't want a brain infection, so do whatever is best for getting well hey!

Those Kebabs, they can be real good, just don't pre order in bulk maybe......

Might be able to meet up at talbotville Friday arvo after work. Moved to sale from brisbane earlier this year and keen to check out some spots in the high country. Might have to check out if I can get a snorkel fitted by Friday given the rain we've had.

Jj95 that would be good, you are welcome, you know where we will be!
I'd say the snorkel could be a good idea, anyone got a full wetsuit?
Who's walking the water crossings? Freeze ya nuts off!
Or we can just sent the Patrol first

At least the Snorkels Not as vital with your Petrol Prado, I did the Area years ago in an FJ40, water over the bonnet, got thru running on 4/6 cylinders after stalling mid river, got water in the diffs thou, so breathers are important, petrols konk out in water Diesel's self destruct.

Well...... If the water is external to the engine, yes your right, the old ones didn't like much.
The newer engines are more water resistant, no distributors & leads, just a coil per cylinder and fairly water repellent.
Naturally never as good as a diesel.
If enuff water enters the intake system and gets to the cylinders either way your screwed.

You would be suprised how much water you can go through without one, well in a Toyota anyway, but yes piece of mind. Hope we see you either way!

Coupla bulk buy packs of Kebabs wrapped around the Engine would do the trick eh Josh.

Given the one 4wd mechanic in sale is booked out for weeks, ordered an ebay snorkel, fingers crossed it gets to me in time to fit it before Friday.

Arguably, you see I drive through a lot of water, some deep, long crossings & change my oils a lot, I mean 3 times a year for rear diff (with standard breather) never find water in it. But then I do find water in Shans rear diff????
Not sure where he takes it swimming...... It's got a breather now.

May well see you up there on Friday! Sav_Prado and I had a trip to Big Desert planned for this weekend with a few mates, but have re-routed to the High Country to try and catch up with you fellow PPers. We are planning to get to Talbotville Friday night and catch up with the Recce Run up there this weekend, so could be another 5 or 6 cars.

Steve (CaLLaN52) if you want to tag along from Berwick on Friday morning youd be more than welcome.

Look forward to catching up with you all on Friday evening, all being well.

                              Cheers
                              John
