The go is, you might want a day or days of relaxing, doing nothing (day off).
Depending on weather we will change it around a little if need be.
I hope that answers your question.
I presume those who don't feel the need for a lay down can group together to explore more tracks?
Cheers, Ben.
I'm thinking everybody is free to do extra driving.
Same as they can stay at camp if they want a break.
From what we are planning there won't be much left in the immediate are to explore
It will be very interesting to see if attendees get enough or can't get enough, driving.
A day off might be a visit to Dargo pub, or a game of cricket with a dozen cans each a good idea?
Officially this would be beyond the scope of the GTG, but definitely related..
I'm wondering if many people are planing to stay longer, into the Easter weekend? Or how many people, like me, would only be able to make it down for the Easter weekend?
What is the go with the lay days planned for the GTG?
I'll definitely be driving/exploring on the lay days Vaughan. I Won't be prepping for the GTG to sit around the camp for two days. Will you join my convoy

Definately closer to GTG scope than the questions from our annoying little friend! LOL

I'm all for that Ian. It's not everyday we go to the high country so I want to drive as many tracks as I can!
Cheers, Ben.
If the weather is good, perhaps we could do the drives every day one after the other?
Then those that want to socialise can at the end......?
Alternatively, Those that drove 10 days in a row 6-8 + hrs a day no day off & thought that's not enough can move on & get some more.
Because from the base of Talbotville we plan to cover pretty much anything that's worthwhile and doable in a day trip.
What is the go with the lay days planned for the GTG?
Has an itinerary been posted somewhere?
I'm with you Ian, we can surely find somewhere to drive! South Basalt track is right next to Talbotville even if we've done it we could spend all day just driving up and down that one
Cheers Andrew

On the who's going it gives a very rough idea of what's doing each day. Still to be completed.
Yes you could drive up & down sth basalt all day & then when you do it on one of the 4 drives out of Talbotville you will be very good at it, maybe you could drive it from the passenger seat? Or blindfolded?
Question for the Committee. Would it cause any issues if we departed the group on Saturday 12th in the afternoon and returned Monday morning? We are likely invited to a wedding in Melbourne on the 13th
Cheers.......Wayne
White 2012 GXL 150 TD Auto. Work in progress. Aiming to spend less than when I kitted out the 120!
Is there a recommended fridge setup? Should I use the 60l for beer and 40l for food or are we always close to shops such that I can afford to sacrifice important space for cheese, dips and prawn skewers?
mlc - doing it rough at the GTG.
mlc might be doing it tougher than he thinks he will. some others might be in for a rude shock as well. Talbertville is in the Alpine National Park and in Victoria generators are banned in NPs. So bring all the fridges you can fit in but remember they need to run on gas or your aux battery.
Prado Polar White 150 GX 3.0 TD Auto. HR TB, ARB delux bar, Hella R2000 lights, Magnum winch, ARB 50mm lift, BFG AT 265/70R17 on 71/2" alloys, Alloy side steps, Rhino sport bars, Tint, UHF, Scangauge, Aux batt (ABR kit), Cargo barrier, 50l water tank, Storage system, Elec brake con. ARB compressor
I'll be right, I have a cpap machine so no snoring for me, god help you though if my battery goes flat lol mmm save the battery for cold beer ?? or save it for the cpap, hard decision. Wife just informed me Ill be sleeping in the prado if the battery goes flat to my cpap.....mmm I can see a dual battery set up before next April.........Just thought the fridge runs of the gas so all sweet but will still need dual battery for lighting and water pump for shower and toilet flush...Luckily I just read the post about no generators as I was bringing the Honda along. Looks like no aircon running even if its 40d........Cheers Steve
