1.2MB is the closed file size as a jpeg. When it's opened in Photoshop or other picha program it will be much larger and is the size Aaron needs for the print quality.
Don't stop submitting as what you have meets the requirements.
Oh, and don't think the confusion is anything new... you wouldn't believe the number of clients who email me asking for a 'larger' file. My response of "So, A2 at 300 dpi isn't large enough for you" usually falls on deaf ears
The photo for this month in the current calender is one of mine and the file size was 1.20mb. It looks Ok to me hanging on the wall next to my desk.
Anyway, if 5mb is the go then no entries for me this year

After viewing the rules I realized my pictures would meet the stated requirements, uploaded a heap just now
If only I knew a guy that taught photography that didn't live on the other side of the country I could really learn how to use my camera and submit better pictures next year
