Buying a Prado and trying to find out the service costs on 120 Prados petrol & diesel

G'day

Looking at a petrol 2006+ or a diesel 2008+ and trying to find out about service costs.
What is the service interval for petrol and diesel?
What is approx cost of 90000, 100000 km service on petrol and diesel Prados
What is the max service costs on these cars and at what distance?

Petrols in 120's are every 10,000km with the major services every 40,000kms.

80k is the big one around 800 bucks, the 90, 100, 110 are only little services between 250-350,ring your local dealer they can quote u figures off their system.

Hey guys its worth noting i was today quoted by Toyota for major service $980, for the same scope of works from another standard mechanic $560 and another mechanic $400 so worth shopping around unless you want the Toyota stamp in your sevice book but i dont see any benefot having the service done by Toyota over a standard mechanic....

I would ask for a list of what is in the 'major' service , i do this for a living and i am always surprised as to what isn't done at some places

Hi there Arthurkiss, the difference is if you have taken the extra warranty (6 years) then it needs to be done by a Toyota dealership from day one, if just the standard 3 years then you can use any approved mechanic, but do it while your under extended warranty and your just lost your warranty..............Cheers Steve (this use to be the case unless its changed, sure some one will verify it)

But a well tuned Prado can decrease more the petrol or diesel Mileage rate.

the scope of the major service is as per the logbook of the car, that details what needs to be serviced so its comparing apples with apples.....
