  • Buying 90 series II

    Hi Prado enthusiasts.
I am in the market to buy a Prado for between $10k and $14k. I am not too knowledgeable about Prado models, but my research says there was a new series of the 90 series released in 1999. It was called series II of the 90 series - I think!
    Any way:

How do I know the difference between the older series I and the newer series II of the 90 series? I suppose this refers to models made in 1999 only. I see Prados advertised and I have no idea if it's series I or II - I prefer series II.

Thank you for any assistance you may provide - safe driving.

    Rabidman

Series 1 will have an analog Odometer and series 2 has a digital Odometer.

Other subtle differences are that the PRADO badge on the rear door handle is white writing on a black background in series 1 and black writing on a white background in series 2. The tails lights have a different colour scheme too.

The Prado on the left (mine) is series 1 and the right is series 2.

I thought series 2 had the 60/40 split rear seat?

        My 1998 model did not.

I think they came in on the '99 model.

That is correct. They also had a different centre console and door cards among other things.
