G'day Leon,

I would be checking the oil pickup screen on the D4D, or it might end up a D$D! Due to blocked screen and oil starvation

check this link on Hilux...same donk

This happens due to long time leaking injectors. Goes undetected 'cause they basically re-seal themselves with crud! but it keeps pushing out over time into your sump. Currently a recall in UK on this issue.

If you clear the screen & fix injector seals, you'll be fine!!

So with regards to the cold start rattle... if it was to have it what's the consequence? Is it something fixable or walk away?
If I get a chance to jump on to the computer rather than the phone I'll have a read through the rattle thread.

Snaga, do yourself a big favour and read the "Injector Oil seal" Thread by Foxy49, Infact run a search on all threads +injector+leak+seal, or tough but breakable
