    $54,681 for 08 D4D GXL Auto no opts. or accs. good or not?

    I just finished a reverse auction on a car broker website, which cost me $250.00 to run, for a new-spec ebony (black) 08 D4D GXL auto with no option packs or accessories rego'd in NSW. The final price drive away was $54,681.00 including GST delivered to my front door in Manly Vale. January build with delivery in February. This price is for private sale not fleet, salary packaged, novated lease etc.

    Considering the best price I was quoted by two dealers from the Northern Beaches was $64,000.00 I am pretty chuffed although I am still a bit shocked that there is more than $10k margin in these cars.

    Has anyone else got a better price?

    EDIT:
    The dealer managed to get me a VX in Crystal Pearl with no extras for $67,680.00 inc GST on the roard that was cancelled by another buyer so I picked it up last thursday. Did a run through Yengo in the wet and was very impressed with the torque and comfort. This car flys. Makes my old Suzuki Jimny and Suzuki Grand Vitara look very average.

    I got a similar $54000 odd quote for a GXL (graphite grey) from a dealer in northern sydney. I would grab it if I were you but dont hold your breath on the delivery date!

    Thats a good price. It took me a lot of haggling and a salary sacrific to get a similar price.

        Mob in Cairns quoted me $56500 for a GXL, sov bull bar, tow bar, headlight & bonnet protector. That price seems quite good.

          I think you have done pretty well
          Highest (best) level fleet price available would have brought it in at around 52 and a bit, so your close enough to know you got a good deal

            Sounds good, I got $55490 drive away with factory tow bar, reversing sensors, window tint (front windows matched, rear windows clear UV resistant tint). No lease, no salary package, just plan old private purchase and I didn't have a trade-in I sold private.

            Thanks to a member off this forum.

            Oh yeah end of Jan 08 delivery for a GXL D4D Auto.

              A guy I work with managed to get the updated D4D GXL M6 for $53,200 driveaway with no options. Had to wait between 5 and 6 weeks. The dealer managed to chase it up through another dealer, if he wanted 1 with side airbags it was Jan '08 delivery.

                These prices at $54K odd driveaway is pretty good.

                Can I confirm if this for a manual or auto?

                I looked up www.discountnewcars.com.au and their discounted price was $53690 but that's for a manual and excludes metallic paint, both of these options are $3000 and $300 respectively.

                  I just picked my new one up - a D4D 6M. I lease through work (salary sacrifice) and lease is for 3 years

                  Basic price was $48 360 plus delivery charges and insurance of around $800.

                  There is quite a significant lease company discount...

                      Sounds about right. I just got quoted (Fleet) $49,900 INC GST on road D4D M6 with towbar and Hard wheel cover.

                          Spec is Powder white GXL
                          Auto - Turbo Diesel

                          Base Price: $54225.00 that is drive away in Qld.
                          No fleet no lease no salary NO TRADE IN. Best proce on betterdeal was $57100

                          I also added
                          * Towbar
                          * Bonnet / headlight protectors
                          * Seat Covers
                          * and they threw in mats

                          *** for a price of $55300 drive away - 12 months rego

                          Most dealers in brisbane would not give me a price, unless i told them a price to match !! ended up buying out of state and no-one would come near 57k for the GXL TD Auto !!

                            BlackBird64 got his from the same guy I did. Are we able to publish the name of the dealer and sales guy who is doing these deals? The guy is putting some awesome deals together and I think he should be rewarded for this by putting our business his way.
