If it's like the Grande seats, the sides are vinyl. I had my driver's seat vinyl side replaced with leather after it wore through.

That's a bit ordinary considering the premium Toyota charge for the Kakadu model. I bought mine 2nd-hand and was coming off the velour seats in the VX 95 series, I just assumed the seats were all leather.

I agree, according to the Kakadu specs the upholstery is "Leather accented interior": http://www.toyota.com.au/prado/speci...s_Kakadu_Specs

I went for a GXL rather than a Kaka when I bought mine in 2010...the reason is I wanted to change the suspension, put a lift in and add air bags.....I read on here, and was told by any number of suspension joints that I couldn't do that with a Kakdu..besides the difference (new) was beyond what I could pay (bought outright).

I must say though they do look nice.
150 Silver Diesel GXL Auto with ECB Bullbar, Toyota Factory towbar, Black Widow Drawer system with Fridge slide and cargo barrier, GME UHF 3340 Radio, Waeco 50 Litre Fridge, Rhino Racks and Rhino Basket, ARB Awning, IPF XS Spotties, ABR Sidewinder Dual Battery system,Airtec Snorkel, Bilstien Shockies, King Springs, Poly Airbags and BFG A/T''s. Now towing a semi offroad Lotus Freelander 18.6 Van, with all the bells and whistles.

I'm guessing that's due to the KDSS suspension. I'm no expert on it but I believe that there are issues with lifts and the KDSS components.

I went for the Kaka because it came with the gear we wanted on it, low K's, and a reasonable (but no bargain) price. If buying new I would have gone for a GXL too, couldn't afford the new Kaka price. I'm happy so far, time will tell.
