  • Nice 70 series ute - straight swap

Local dealer has a 2009 70 series ute, alloy mags, alloy winch bar, alloy tray, full tarp, dune coloured V8 diesel 5 speed with only 48,000km on the clock and for sale at $53,000. Tempted to see if they would do a straight swap for my 120. But then again, with all my goodies and only 10,000km on my new engine maybe I'll stick with what I've got. They probably wouldn't want my 120 after all the grief I've given them following my engine disaster anyway.

Do 120's really still sell for 50K+? Add-ons don't amount to much (if anything) when it comes to resale.

I just bought a 2011 150 with 20K kms on it for less than $53k, don't want to rain on your parade but I think the dealer would laugh at the idea of a straight swap

Ok Reggie just comparing it to what I paid for the 09 Kakadu, $61K with 41K on the clock but it also had extra fruit on it.

It's already dropped from $59990 to $53,000 and it'll be $50K flat on Christmas eve. They've done a crap job by letting the detailer spray horrible black stuff all underneath that has more lumps in it than nanna's custard.

Would like a Kaka but couldn't justify/convince the missus the $ difference. Also, hard to compare WA prices with eastern states, our cars seem to be about $2-3k dearer for the same thing :/

The late model ('08/'09) 120 D4Ds are killing the 150s for resale at the moment.

                    Why is that so?

Dunno really, maybe it is that the 3rd row seats can come out easily giving more rear storage or it has 180L fuel capacity or it has a dash that doesn't look like it was designed by the work experience kid or the mechanicals are largely the same...

Don't know about that, 08/09 120 GXL's diesels seem to be going for about $30-$35k now, after being between 40-45. Dealers I've been looking for mine with over the past few months are having trouble moving 120's at those mid 40 prices now the 150's are down to mid $55k.

And I actually like the dash, its modern and not 10 years old...

Only if they have 120,000+ klms on them, low klm vehicles are still getting top dollar.

Well there's not many of them in WA! Most trade in's I looked at started around 95,000kms and up, thats when I decided to start considering 150's. Even the 2010 150's have about 50-60 thou on them now
