Thoughts on 150 VX - NZ ex-rental

Have today test driven a VX diesel here in NZ. It is an ex rental (as many of the used Prados are that are sold through the Toyota network) first registered October 2010 and has done 70,300 km.

Vehicle is in very good condition and would come with free 2 year warranty, free 2 year warrant of fitness check (required here in NZ) and 2 years AA road side service.

The kms are high.

What, if anything, should I be aware of?

it looks nice, has no towbar if that doesnt bother you, with the warranty it should be good, and x rental should be well serviced and cleaned.

If it were an ex-rental in Oz I'd be worried, would be pretty thrashed I'd imagine. Maybe Kiwi Prados get treated better but I'd want it thoroughly tested by an independent mechanic. Was there a pic in your post? If so I can't see it.

i just assumed it was that one fido666, its the only vx with those kms advertised.

Nice car, pretty $$$ for 2 years old and 70k on the clock. I say $$$ as its definitely not a 'one owner' and driven carefully type arrangement.. Be wary and don't pay the full sticker price. Ensure another mechanic checks everything.

$62,995 in NZ dollars is less than $50,000 in real money.
