Ordered a gxl diesel manual in Ebony on April 10th and told that build in June for July delivery.Anyone had a lead time like that before? Do they give such a blown out time always and have they been known to rock up earlier ? Your previous experiences would gratefully be appreciated fellow members( the minister in charge is getting antsy she wants her new rig)

I originally ordered a White Manual Diesel GXL, but was told it would take at least 6 months to be delivered.
I didn't want to wait that long, so I took the only Diesel GXL they had in Canberra. I now have a Black Auto
A mate ordered a new FJ in Oct 2011. By Mar 2012 he still had no word from Toyota, so he cancelled the order and got a 2nd hand Prado instead.150 Black GXL Diesel Auto, ARB winch bar, OME suspension, Snorkel, ARB bash plates, GME 3500, Recovery points, MT MTZ's 265/70, Wet Seat covers, Tigerz11 Roof rack & awning

Doesn't sound that bad , I ordered mine in Aug 2011 and originally was told Dec 2011 but didn't receive the vehicle until Jan 2012.
Tell the minister in charge it's worth the wait.If the wind don't blow, the world don't suck and we all fall off

My experience was quite different. Bought the sales managers demo which just happened to be exactly the car I was after.I have a theory that they drip feed Prado's to customers to ensure a waiting list and therefore making it very hard to bargain with them over price. My 2c worth anyway
CheersWhite 2012 GXL 150 TD Auto. Work in progress. Aiming to spend less than when I kitted out the 120!

I ordered a ebony Kakadu D4D on the 11 Dec 12 and it has just shown up at the dealership 10 days ago. When I placed the order I was informed that delivery would be 02 Feb 13 and I thought that was ok. When the salesman rang and told me that it would now be early May I spat the dummy and have since been dealing with the manager. He has been very helpful, throwing in some accessories to ease the pain.
The car is now at ARB for a bullbar etc and delivery will be ready in a week.2013 D4D Kakadu - Black, ARB Deluxe BB, ARB Sidebars, Warn 9.5XP winch, ARB UVP, IPF900HID, Safari Snorkel, ARB Compressor, Redarc Dual Battery with D34, BCDC 1225 with solar input, Hayman Reece Towbar, ARB alloy roof rack, GME 3540 Uhf, Redarc trailer brake, Cooper AT3s,

Many years ago Toyota would keep a number of vehicles in stock. They where ADR processed and stored at TMCA Acacia Ridge in Brisbane. In the early 90's they passed on the processing to Patric Autocare now at Fisherman's Island who receive ADR process and deliver them to the dealers (amongst other brands).
For many years now Toyota vehicles coming into Brisbane at least if not Australia are mostly pre-sold.
The difference between the build date and compliance date is the time it takes to be shipped to Australia and processed so one month difference is normal.
