If you put in stiffer springs you probably need better damping to keep it under control. Probably because I don't have a kakadacka so I don't know how well it is damped. If it is anything like the standard shocks on the GXL in my opinion those are under damped for stock springs let alone adding weight up the front.

I'm sure he will confirm it does. There are electronic linkage that control the valving on the shocks, they are a bit fiddly to disconnect. The shocks have to be removed to fit the springs so it all takes a bit of time.

BTW, my rear measurements were done with the airbags on the "N" setting.

Hi Guys, I have enjoyed reading this thread. The best centre camera mount I have seen was shown at http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...kadu-150/page2 I believe you can centre mount depending on winch / no winch and proposed control position for the winch.

I haven't modified our new Kakadu apart from tyres. We did go to Stockton Beach (40km long near Newcastle) last weekend. We found our side wind shields very useful as it was raining a fair bit. It was nice to drive, watch and listen to the ocean / waves and have no rain coming in. Also when stopping next to the other vehicle it was handy also to keep the rain out.

I put the weathershields on my list for them to include as well but then told them to discard because of cost & their usefulness (or rather lack of from some people's responses) You made some good points re their benefits - might rethink again Bawky

I have avoided them on all private cars in the past. I purchased mine from dealer at the 1,000km service. Labour was not charged and they only charged trade price. I can't remember the cost, but it wasn't much.

I found the weather shield disgustingly useless.

If I have the window down more than 2 inches I end up with more rain the car than out as a result of them.

They're poorly designed compared to those on my last vehicles.

I think they need a small rear one, so that both windows can be lowered in the rain and the air will flow from front to back without bufferting. Apparantly the dealer doesn't have them in Prado range.

Weathershields, light & bonnet protectors all around $100+ each unit, Supercheap Auto weathershields around $75-80 from memory. I have seen them on a couple of Prados so far & the do look a very slimline design & made me wonder as to their real useulness

I thought all these plasticky bits (weather, bonnet, headlamp..) would be a very low cost enticement offer from the dealer that don't take much to install & they would be more willing to 'throw'in
