Hello all
I'm new here and in the process of trying to find a 120 series Prado. I have just seen one being sold form the Toyota dealer, 2006, V6 with 170 000km on the clock. I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. Firstly before viewing the vehicle I was told that the salesmen had been driving it when he noticed something not quite right with the drive train. He took it back to garage where the Toyota mechanics told him the CV drive shaft pin had fallen out (???) and it would need to be replaced. They did the work and I test drove the vehicle and it felt fine, no shudders or odd vibrations but I am no expert! I was wondering is this a common issue on the Prado or could it be related to a more serious issue? Also would the CV failing while driving have potentially damaged something else on the drive train?
My second question is with the gear shifter. This one felt very loose, when in reverse I could use a finger to tap it out. Similarly when in D I could tap it into 4. Once again I was wondering how normal this is? (Salesmen of course said all Prados are like that??)
Thanks for any help!
