How much extra for Option Packs?

Just went out and tested it. when I press the button in "H" the light on the dashboard flashes and then when I put it in "L" the light on the dashboard comes on and stays on. Haven't had a chance to try it out on a hill yet but all the indications are that it works OK.

I had a look at the Toyota Documentation on the Toyota website and I agree that it looks as if it is not meant to be included. Anyone have any ideas???

Option packs

I have just bought a D4D auto GX (4Feb08 delivery) with the safety packs and yes if you get option pack II on the GX with stability control etc you get DAC. It only works in low range as per your test. It is mentioned in the brochures and the manuals. Not sure which safety pack it comes with in the GXL because once the GX was offered I only looked at those specs. Check the website brochure if you don't have the manual handy.

Hi ..

Yeah it looks like the Documentation and Marketting blurb on the website is a bit out of date !! This has probably happened since the 08 update to the Prado Spec.. Methinks Toyota Australia are a bit slow updating the websites etc !! DAC seems to be included with the Option Pack 2 on the GX / Option Pack 1 on the GXL

Picked up my new D4D GXL auto with option pack 1 today. It's also fitted with DAC as described by others. Toyota salesman had no idea they were fitted - he assumed it must have been added with the 08 update. That's a bonus! Will have to give it a try-out tomorrow :!: The D4D is certainly a different driving experience to the 04 V6 I just traded. Seems to float along effortlessly at highway speed. Not that there was anything wrong with the V6 - the diesel is just very different.

2008 model brochure does not show DAC or HAC as coming with either Option Pack for the GXL.

guys, anyone got a list of what is in option pack 1 and option pack 2?

either of them include leather on a GXL?

got a mate looking who's keen for manual with leather... so that means GXL with an option pack if it exists or custom install...

No leather until the VX so will need to be a custom job.

I'm due to pick up my poverty pack Auto D4D Prado standard this Thurday.
When I ordered it in october last year, I paid $1080 for option pack 1, Which was sopousto include ABS, cruise control. For option pack 2, which was ment to include side airbags, all the D.A.C electronics such as traction control i was qouted $5000. I didnt go for Option pack 2...

My car is on the dealers lot at the moment, It is being prepared, and I can see it has D.A.T marking on the Window, so I hope I got some bonus goodies too!!

I wonder how can I tell whether a vehicle is fitted with a TRC or VSC just by having a quick glance on the dash??

I think they all have a DAT sticker, look at the centre console in front of the auto shifter they would be a DAC button.

When you turn the ignition on, it should have TRC DAC etc shown in orange lights on the dash, then they should go out after you start the car.

If you have a look on the centre console, if it has a DAC button, then it has Down Hill Assist.

Does anyone have an insight as to what the factory does to "enable" the TRC, VSC & DAC in the GX / GXL ?
I am guessing 98% of the Hardware (minus the DAC button) is built into the GXL for these systems to function. (ABS, BA, Electronic throttle)

It would seem a Chip swap in the ECU or even using an ECU from a VX / Grande should have these systems operational..(minus the side curtain airbags)
