Andrew ... OK, this is the type of information that really helps ... 100kg instead of 80kg ... that's a big +

Thanks Black Mamba 14 ... Can you comment on this?:Originally posted by gregmacc View PostFrom photos that I've seen it appears that GXL 3rd row seats form a perfectly flat floor when the seats are folded down - I guess what I'm asking is, if there is no need for 3rd row seats and the plan is to use that area for storage when touring, what are the pros and cons of having/not having 3rd row seats. The only pro I can think of for having them is better resale value (which would be the case with a GXL anyway)
And ... What is it about the GX grill that you prefer?Last edited by gregmacc; 21-09-2014, 12:26 PM.

The front grill on a GX is full black, as the GXL has chrome highlights. Also I know the GXL has three zone climate control but the GX only has two, one either side at the front. Not sure if it has a fan control in the back. If you check the Toyota website or carsales you can see pictures as well as the specs of the two.2014 GXL Prado

Thanks r2d2 ... So is the black grill on the GX plastic or steel? - Yes, have spent many hours lately pawing over carsales.com ... a bit difficult to find photos that definitively display the differences between GX and GXL cargo areas ... but I get the message ... slightly more depth (possibly 50mm) in the GX.

So a quick look on carsales and it is clear the GX had different aircon controls. It seems to be a lot simpler. First two pictures are the GX Middle dash and the rear of the centre console, the last two are from a GXL.
Sorry for the poor quality but a 2 minute search on carsales. Plus it easy to see the difference in the rear area as well.2014 GXL Prado

The GXL is almost flat with the 2nd row seats folded down and I would imagine the GX would have a large drop behind the 2rd row seats.2013 Blue Storm D4D 150 GXL Auto, Opposite Lock Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, GME 3345 UHF + AE4018 Antenna, HR Tow Bar, TG150, HD Rhino Roof Racks, Foxwing, Dual Batteries, C-Tek DCDC Charger, ARB 47L Fridge, ScanGauge II, Internal Fishing Rod Storage, X-Ray Vision HIDs and LEDs, New PP Sticker.... A quick Google gave me these two photos. First is a GXL, second is a GX.
