  • Buying 99 RV 90 series 3400

As title says, my mate is looking at a 99 RV, Question I have is there doesn't seem to be a CDL switch. Its not there at all. I know silly question but it should have it even in an RV model shouldn't it otherwise cant lock it in. CDL goes in automatically when low range is engaged but high range???. Any idea why wouldn't be there? Any help appreciated.

      Hi Steevo

The Grande has the switch for CDL. The RV, GXL, some VX use the stubby stick to lock CDL. Should have a orange light come on the dash when CDL is selected. Hope this help's

This is only true with the updated model, all grades before the update use the lever.

Thanks guys so how do you get high CDL'ed? I know when low range is selected it automatically locks CDL but how does it work in high range? I feel stupid asking as my 96 RV 2.7 prado I had years ago had a button to push like 80 and 100series. I just cant figure how you engage the CDL without a switch to activate it?

Normal usage on road the stubby stick should be pull all the way down. This has CD unlocked. Push stick forward 1 notch and the is HI 4 CD locked. Next notch forward is transfer box is in neutral. And all the way forward is LOW 4 CD locked. Hope that helps
