The 58k was a one on the day deal. The next week I went the price was 61k... funny that.

I paid 71 for the Altitude because I bought one of the last in Oz at the time so dealer were not willing to budge as they knew people we still wanting them.

to be honest my family and I dont need to do 1600km on a tank. We get 900km on ours and that's enough for the places we go and what we do. Not everyone goes the the middle of oz or plans to.

we wanted the altitude for the leather seats moon roof and incorporated dvd in the rear for the kids... but most of all we are a big fan of the clean rear look. I tow a boat and the camera view is perfect.

everyone has their requirements and this fit our bill. We could of got vx but I was not willing to get a loan for it
Prado MY14 150 Series Altitude - Rhino Pioneer rack with backbone system, Tint, Fuel Manager Pre-Filter Fuel/Water Separator, Mann Provent 200 oil catch can, Toyota 2.5T Tow Bar, Scangauge2, TJM T3 winch bar, Narva HID 225, Polyair Air bags, 2" lift (Bilstein & Kings), Uniden 7700 with GME AE4018BK3, 32" LED Light bar, 2mt Awning, 1100mm Treds with mount plates

If you ever take a holiday one day it's nice to fill up at home and drive to your destination. Check out the area and drive home and still have half a tank which will last you another month.

So what is the big deal about having to fill up while on holiday or at home. You still have to fill up one day.

One advantage of the large tank is that you can choose when to fill up so when there are large fuel price fluctuations it can save some reasonable coin

Really... the price of fuel. Come on. Paying $2 or $1 or even $3lt big deal.

If fuel price is an issue stay home.

ok.. I may have went to far with that.

I do like the look of the clean back Door it would suit those with twin wheel carriers. Is it a option to install the second tank in the rear once the spare is removed.

True but the clean back door is all but concealed once a wheel carrier goes on, then you are still paying for the tank which comes standard on the GXL. Ahhhh to many options

That is true but doesn't the rear window wind down? Save opening up carrier to access the rear

I'll swap my rear door with someone with an altitude if they want the wheel on the back I'll even pay to have it painted in your colour. On a side note, anyone know of an altitude at a wreckers yet????

The biggest thing I miss about my "old" 200 (apart from the room and the power and the quietness) is the drop down tailgate.

It doesn't wind down. you press a little button on the right and the glass only pops up like a hatch (has struts). We tend to use ours a lot as the garage only just fits ours in with the boat in front of it.

I was hoping that when they said the Altitude was coming out wheel-less on the back it would have been the same setup as the 200. Now that would have been perfect.

Just bought a GXL. Looked at the Altitude and like the tailgate & wheels but couldn't really justify the extra coin for what you get. And I'll make good use of the 150l tanks, in fact already looking at replacing the subtank with a larger one. Horses for courses though.
