  • 4WD dash lights not working on 06 Prado GXL

    I am looking at buying a 2006 GXL, and I noticed that the dashboard lights don't come on when the car is put into HH and LL. I can see where they are supposed to be on the dashboard, however they dont come on. Is this normal? Thanks

    Its not normal, but its not an uncommon problem. Start by having a read here http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...ht-not-working

      So it looks like its a common problem? just wondering if the indications are supposed to illuminate 'high' and 'low' or just shows the orange picture of the 4 wheels that says diff is locked

        No high or low indication, just the orange light. As the Prado is constant 4wd, that light is to indicate that the centre diff is locked.

        HL = High Locked
        LL = Low Locked

        Cheers Andrew

          Cool, thanks Andrew. I guess the car might be worth buying after all
