Re: Do you wish you had bought a different model Prado?

Starting to think i should have gone straight for the GXL (i bought the GX). Thought i would just get the last GX in stock and option it up after taking delivery (not real bright). Apparently it is all factory fitted prior to delivery (safety pack option 2) and is prohibitely expensive to fit after delivery. Any suggestions...??? would like ABS etc

Re: Do you wish you had bought a different model Prado?

Thought I'd just clarify - I have the '06 GX. Later versions of the GX will avoid many of the hassles the '06 and earlier ones had as the GX now has the flares. Easier to buy bars, tyres etc.

Re: Do you wish you had bought a different model Prado?

Great post this one...no-one is going to agree with the other.

I got the D4D 08 Diesel GXL Auto and cant find a single fault with it. (Maybe the headlights could be brighter but I try to stay away from night driving, cant see anything and I want to look). I have found that all those little frills tend to break down the track, Im not electrilly minded so harder to fix. Buggered if I find the seats to hard or uncomfortable and we go to Geraldton in it. 5 hours driving.
Brilliant on fuel at 10lt per 100 K's, plenty of grunt if you hit it to pass with. Maybe I got a lucky one but it hammers no trouble.
Havent really tried it in the mud yet but dont have good tread either so thats not fair.

I cant see why Toyota dont put more of the extras on that nearly every one of us has added since buying. Towing points under the front cant be that hard to add. Saves me having to move the radiator later.

Cant see us getting rid of this one for a loooong time, 400K's at least. Magic and really good quality so I will stick with the old girl.

          Love it
          Pete

have to agree with the bloody price of diesel though........highway robbery

Re: Do you wish you had bought a different model Prado?

I was about to sign on the dotted line for an 4/06 GXL diesel, and the salesman said a 12/06 D4D VX had just come in. I took it for a drive and the rest is history. On my first trip - to Qld via Gloucester (to pick up a Drifta kitchen) - with a camper trailer, got 11l/100kms at 90-100kph. Wifey and the 3 little muts, (yes they are dogs), love traveling in it, and so do I. It is so easy to drive, and yes, I too can pass a truck whenever I like. Do I wish I'd bought a different Prado? ABSOLUTELY NOT

I don't get the voting options - they don't appear to make much sense. :? Can they be fixed up?

Perhaps: 'Yes' (along with a choice for each model) and simply 'No' would make more sense. :|

Re: Do you wish you had bought a different model Prado?

To the question - "Hell No". I waited for ages before I found a nice 2000 KZJ95R 5 speed manual with a 1KZ-TE engine. I had sworn never to buy another white vehicle again but had to bite the bullet as manual's are hard to find. I always get a smile on my dial when I use the Prado - so won't be trading anytime soon unless her indoors let's me trade up to a 2005 NZ new model with the same running gear. (we are having a bit of grief over here with the new D4D engines)

I've got a 08 GXL D4D Auto. I wish i bought a 09 120 GXL D4D Auto with option pack 1. I was 2 months to late!!!!!!! stopped making them when my lease ran out  Not to fussed on new model and lack of boot space. I like my lifestyle rack to much to upgrade just yet.

I don't get the voting system on this thread. If you select one of the statements, are you agreeing with it or not?

Also, talk about loaded questions. How about I am happy with my choice, and even happier now that I've seen the 150 series?

I have a 2004 Silver Gxl manual (5 speed) petrol, the only thing I would want different is a 6 speed box, 5 gears arent enough.

I'm happy with my GXL but if I had the extra dollars I would have looked for a VX or Grande but they were out of my price range. I wouldn't change now just to upgrade but when the time comes for a new vehicle i may consider it.
2004 GXL V6 and loving it.
