  • Buying a used 2011 150 Series - need advice

    Hi,

I've found two vehicles (same price, colour and KMs; and both scratched underside from 4x4 use), which should I go for?

    1. 2010 GX Manual, ARB accessories (bull bar, roof rack, tow bar, front coil springs, window tinting); or
    2. 2011 GX Auto, bull bar, seller a mechanic and has offered to convert from 5 to 8 seats. Downside is cruise control broken and 1st owner an LNG project (boss car, no pit work like ex-miners).

I test drove the manual and its much less a pleasure than my 120 series Grande Auto. Hence, thinking that whilst option 1 comes with less baggage option 2 might be the way to go.

    Thoughts?

GXs had a recall on the clock spring which may be why cruis isn't working. Worth a call to a dealer with the VIN and check if you can get that done for nix. Otherwise manual vs auto is up to you. I prefer the auto as I am not a fan of the 6 speed or its clutch.

Convert from from 5 to 8 seats?? guessing thats a typo.....

Auto for me too, a lot more control off road (hopefully thats what your using it for) and easier round town. 2011 + auto = better resale as well.
