Wouldn't adjusted accordingly mean that if the original price before accessories / discounts / trade-in is changed that original starting price is now substituted with the new starting price? And then an appropriate adjustment would then be recalculating stamp duty (or taxes) and adding everything up again.

Looking at the Toyota website for a V6 Auto GXL the original price was 57790 and the special price is now 51990. So on your contract wouldn't that mean that the 57790 should be crossed out and 51990 written in its place? And then recalculating the % charges and adding it up again.
That's what i would think too; and if the list price had been negotiated down in the first place, the same discount should apply to the new pricing. Agree with you entirely, the new price should be $6000 less than the old ... plus minus adjustments for stamp duty etc.

I would stand firm on this or look to walk.

There certainly seems to be a few dealers around who quite happily push the boundaries of honesty.

I know we've got a couple of Toyo sales guys as PP members.
I'd be interested in hearing their personal twist on this one.

As for the deals .... I reckon you're being taken for a ride.
Anything less that the full reduction in price is not good enough.

There's enough Toyo dealers, in Perth, who will take your order and pass on the full discount.

        Good luck.

For a contract to be valid in the legal sense you need three items an offer an acceptance and consideration. Consideration being the excahge of money or other payment for goods and services. As no money has yet changed hands the current arrangement does not meet the definition of a contract in the legal sense however if a deposit was paid even 1 dollar contract would be in place.
Dont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

Good try mate! Under common contract law this is the case, but I think you will find there is specific government legislation that dictates when a Contract exists in the purchase of a MV ... and legislation takes precedent over common law. And, as unfortunate as it is, i don't think "consideration" (deposit) is a requirement for an MV contract to be binding.

However, I do think there are a number of other avenues, as suggested by others previously, that might help. I really hope so!

Sorry, you are wrong about money needing to be exchanged. An order is a valid contract (payment terms come into affect upon delivery usually). Business would stop if you're interpretation was correct as the risk would be too great to the supplier.
You should not sign anything without reading the fine print and if you don't understand, seek legal advice (NOT from the web). I have insisted on changes to the order contract in the past - the sales guys hate it but if they want the deal they do what the customer wants. Remember these documents are produced by the supplier so who are they going to favour?
