  • Help on used Prado purchase please!

    I'm looking at buying a 2009 120 series Prado..Diesel engine. 150,000kms

Service history is there, but some services are 5000kms over. No major service done yet. It's well due for a full oil swap in everything, as well as a timing belt.
I'd like to change the injectors, which hasn't been done. Am I right that the cost 5o replace is $2000?

Is there anything I should be worried about? Was concerned about the engine issues, but from what I've read being a 2009 model it "should" be clear of the recall issues.

    What are people's thoughts?

I saw somewhere that Baileys diesel group charges max $2600 for worst case scenario to replace the injectors and everything else with it. I think it also includes the SCV.

There doesn't seem to be many manuals around. Are they not very popular or sort after?

I read somewhere that only 5% of 150 Series sales are petrol and only 5% are manual? I'm guessing similar numbers for 120 series if true.

How much is the 120 your looking at?

Sounds right , I bought injectors & pipes for around $1700 from baileys and independently installed for $510 for a 2008.

Baileys did mine for $1,800 all up. That was best case - it didn't need EGR/inlet manifold clean or anything else.
