  • Potential issues with 2009/10 Prado

    Hey

I'm looking for some advice on issues i may have with a 2009/10 Prado. I've just sold my RR Evoque for something bigger & more rugged, but struggling to come to terms with losing the niceties the RR offered. So I've found a 2011 Kakadu, petrol with 62000kms on the clock, or 2009 Kakadu, diesel with 100k on the clock. My questions are what problems am i likely to have? Service costs? Are these things really as indestructible as everyone says? My husband is useless where cars are concerned (hence asking for help!) , i'm concerned about spending 50k and then having to spend more to fix... Alternative is early 2013 (before the facelift) diesel with 45k's but GXL a safer option? .... Ideally i would like something that i can hold onto for a while.

    Cheers

    Bec

Petrol has been reliable. If you get the diesel, don't chip it and budget for injector replacement every 100k. there are a few threads discussing the petrol vs diesel, pros/cons. Have a read of those. Also make yourself aware of the D4D issues and the preventative maintenance required.
