Ended up at just under 63k for 2016 build 2.8 GXL auto with tow bar, front sensors, mats and a few minor bits. Seems about average. Also tempted to go V6 but economy a concern and 2.8 was very smooth with good low speed response.

Thanks to all on this thread who have shared prices. It gave me an excellent starting point for my negotiations. So I will now share my purchase. After some robust discussions with the dealer I ended up with; GX Prado, 2016 build, 2.8 litre, automatic, white, tow bar, floor mats and cargo mats, delivery April, full tanks of fuel, $57,000 drive away. I live in Perth. Also, I found a man on the net by the name of John Cadogan very helpful. He runs a site called AutoExpert.com.au. I commend this YouTube video to you on "how to beat the dealer". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJTi...sWtXIx&index=7

Picking up a white GX Prado 2.8 litre automatic on Tuesday in Brisbane. Nov 2015 build with floor mats and full tanks. $53,700. Pretty happy with that, since my 90 series RV-6 (3.4 litre petrol, auto) cost me $46,000 in August 1998. The good price allowed me to go crazy in the ARB store. Getting the following installed: Hayman Reece towbar with Anderson plug and new Redarc TowPro in-dash brake controller, CouplerTec electronic rustproofing, Rhino Rack triple aero roof bars, ARB deluxe steel bull bar (colour-coded), ARB Intensity (21S) LED driving lights. Just under $7K installed. Getting a fully set-up kit for $60,700- I'm pretty happy about that. Need to get it through the first service before towing my caravan to Fraser Is for Easter. I'll swap over the steel mesh platform and awning from my '90. My only question- do I need to upgrade the suspension too ? ARB guy quoted me $1750 for a suspension upgrade to ARB springs/OME Nitrochargers. I run them in my 90, and they transformed the car.
