  • Grande with higher k's or GXL with lower k's

    Hi all,

Reido here and thanks for having me on the forum.

I am after a 120 series Prado (petrol) for my wife. She tows a horse float with 1 or 2 horses about once a month.
We currently have an NM pajero thats getting long in the tooth (300km) and want to join the many happy Prado owners!

For my budget of 20-25k max, it seems like I can either get GXL models with 110-130km, or Grandè's with 160-200km.

The wife is keen on the grandè because of the many extra features, but would the extra km be a problem, or worth going the GXL for?

So my question is, Grande with higher K's or GXL with lower K's?

    Thanks in advance

If it is a GXL with Option pack, then probably the GXL. Otherwise the Option Pack give traction control and more safety stuff, which comes standard with the Grande. Traction control is handy offroad. Later model GXLs comes with the rear aircond which is great if you have rear passengers.

The Grande would be good for towing due to the self levelling rear suspension. For the age you are looking at, be prepared to replace the airbags as the rubber deteriorates. About $500-600 for new genuine item from Amayama.
