120 Prado advice

Hi everyone,

Just joined Pradopoint and absolutely lovin it. What a cracker place to read and find information. Everyone chippin in and helping eachother out!

Anyway, my situation is this... I'm currently in Melbourne and taking a lifestyle check and moving to Broome for a few years to put my life back into perspective after recently being up there and surrounding areas, and loved the place and lifestyle. After about 2 months of trying to work out what car I would like, and looking at sales sites, I have decided on the mighty PRADO.

I have found a 2007, 120, Diesel, Manual with around 120,000km and are going to have a look at it.

I have done alot of reading and research and am worried about all the talk of injectors, lines, seal problems, blocked oil inlets, EGR blockages etc.
I am very fussy about my cars and the Prado will be no exception. If I need to replace the injectors I am fine with that, but just want to know before I purchase the thing.

So... are there any tell-tail signs for these things by just visually inspecting the vehicle? What else do you think I should be looking out for?

Better fuel economy? More reliable? Maybe not... Do you think petrol would be better? Will be driving it to Perth with boat in toe and slowly creeping up the east cost until we hit Broome.

Mate - urgently check your map and compass. I think you're looking at it back to front.

Haha good point. Never typed west coast before and the finger auto typed east coast.
