really interesting timelines here... we ordered our VX in late May, no updates for 2 months. Dealer sent me the login for the online order tracker, that finally updated from "we are proud to release a new model in July 2021, your order will commence after the release of the new model" to "order confirmed" on the 14th July... hasn't moved since.
Spoke to the dealer about the new model updates, confirmed we are getting 19inch rims.... not happy who the F^&^ puts 19 inch rims on an offroad vehicle??? you cant even buy AT tyres that fit!!
anyway, dealer said hed swap the rims with 17s off a demo GX/GXL if allocated one. suffice it to say, if they try to sting me an extra $1000 when the ONLY update is 19inch rims, they're not going to enjoy the follow up conversation...

What are people paying for a GXL during these COVID / Parts shortage days?2010 GXL Prado D4D Auto - ARB Deluxe winch bar, Roadsafe recovery points, Rhinorack Pioneer platform, AMTS fuel filter/compressor combo bracket with FM100 filter and ARB compressor, Maxtrax, TIN175 transmission oil cooler bracket and tranny cooler. I'm sure I'll find something else....

I just ordered a graphite GX and have been advised that the wait time is around 5 months.
30/7/21 - Order placed
4/8/21 - Confirmation email saying it's officially been ordered
I'll update on expected lead times when I find out more.
For others who are about to purchase, I struggled to get any discount from a dealer but got a good discount through National Car Brokers (https://www.nationalcarbrokers.com.au/). I was hesitant but they had good reviews and the process was easy, although they asked for a higher deposit since dealers supposedly don't want to order GX's as they're harder to move and have less markup. I recommend knowing exactly what you want and being ready to purchase immediately. Their fee was $242 and once the deal is done everything is handled through Toyota including updates and final payment
