Booking Time for Prado2021

Hi Everyone, just signed up as I seem to be getting the ring around from my dealer.

on June 16 2021 I ordered a peacock blue GXL, with leather, this was due to the 19” on the VX’s

In June I was originally told September delivery

then July with price change confirmation told October

then December

then February

now the dealer is claiming delivery is unknown and that they can’t set up tracking of the build as it wasn’t set up in June

what’s everyone’s thoughts on the above? I’m starting to question other options now

Im in the same boat mate comments above, except my order was in July. The dealer is offering me nothing except to say they are at the whim of the factory. Toyota is meant to be the number one of customer service, this is really deflating. If i dont hear by end of October ill probably can the order.

Just put an order in for a Pearl White Kakadu. Have been told mid-Jan for delivery, but not holding my breath. Specifically I was wanting to track the build using the https://webapps.toyota.com.au/apps/cwt/ app. I have been told by my dealer here in WA that "oh the eastern states do that but we can’t do it here." Of course I don't believe that for a second - but interested in others experiences. Am I being fed a line, or is that legit . . .

That's what i got told as well when ordered in WA. The dealer just provided an update towards the end of each month.

Yep same here. Been told Toyota Aus and Toyota WA are separate. No tracking available except info passed on from the dealership

Greetings to all, my 1st post here on Prado point.

I ordered a GXL with premium interior in late April. Mine has not progressed past being ordered, so it is highly unlikely I'll take delivery this year. It's great to hear some of you getting yours much more quickly but very disappointing to have mine take so long.

Dealer said 4 months but it has been just short of six months.

So much for the post lock down touring plans.

So guys just a heads up, I took delivery of our VX this week - just came out of no where ! For us it was 3 months end to end - not bad

I am quite envious George. I ordered in late April, so 3 months is fantastic.

I really don't get how things can be so different.

The theory discussed earlier in this thread was that it's all to do with dealer allotments. Some dealers sell more, get more allotments, fill them faster. Some less. Even with those who sell less, you can get lucky or unlucky depending on whether your order completes an allotment, or starts a new one. Hard to know for sure whether that's correct, but it's a theory that fits the data. There's a wide disparity in wait times that doesn't have another obvious explanation.

Booked mine GXL Premium Interior Silver in early June 2021. Still no ETA provided. Hopefully will get the delivery soon or at least an update.

I spoke with my dealership yesterday and has confirmed that mine will be built this month and a slim chance it will hit Australia in late December, but most likely 2022.

FYI all dealers where updated on the 2nd about production delays, so contact your dealer

I spoke to my dealer yesterday as I did not receive the usual end of month update. Toyota Japan are said to have advised of an increased production schedule and the dealer is awaiting updates.
