    ANY THOUGHTS ON 04 OVER 05 PURCHASE

    Gday guys,

    I am about to purchase a 2nd hand prado grande, and have found two I am considering.
    The first is an 04 with 80k for 37k, and the second is an 05 with 75k for 42k.
    Both are in immaculate condition. Is there any justification for spending an extra 5k for the 05 model?

    In 04 the gearbox changed from a 4speed to a 5speed late o4 that would be the only thing to check.

      I've got a 4speed TD April 2006 build in a GXL. I think there was a 5speed released earlier on the petrol but I'm not aware of a 5speed on the diesel until the D4D was releaseed in August 06. Even looking on ToyoDIY it does not seem to indicate a 5speed option in the 120 until the D4D 1KD was released in August.

        Thanks Guys, I just checked and its a 5sp.
        I forgot to mention They're petrol.

          HI Wayno,if it has a 5spd it,s probably a 04 update like mine built 11th month 04 very smooth box very happy with mine done just over 90k.CHEERS TINKERA.

            You might also want to check when theyb last updated the map data in the sat nav unless they have ripped it out and put aftre marker in place.
