How much should I care?

I am looking at buying a 2005 Prado Grande petrol that is in otherwise excellent condition and low mileage (one owner) but has the dreaded cracked dash.
If it is just a cosmetic issue I am inclined to buy a dash mat and not worry too much about it (especially as a replacement fully fitted sounds like it would cost me well over a thousand) but am I being foolish? Is it more serious than I think it is?

I would be more concerned about the state of the 17 year old air bags in rear suspensiom

Don’t worry about the cracked dash. The longer you own the car the less you’ll notice it & the less you’ll care. If you’re OCD then you have other time & money wasting problems bigger than a cracked dash. As mentioned above, check condition of rear airbags. Me personally, I’d get rid of the damn things & replace them with coils for peace of mind when off-road or remote.
