Toyota GPI and "Acknowledgement Notice for Sale of New Motor Vehicle"

So there is a Toyota General Price Increase 1 January 2023 of $2000 for all grades of Prado.

I am just about to buy another Prado and the dealer gave me a document "Acknowledgement Notice for Sale of New Motor Vehicle"

Has anybody else that has ordered a new Prado recently been provided this document to sign?

yes signed it -when price increases, you have the option at the time to reject the price increase and not go ahead and you get your deposit back - i am no lawyer but i wouldnt disclose your knowledge of pending price increase- so you have the option to cancel should you not like the price increase down the track - if you knew the price increase but went ahead anyway, it would be hard to argue that being the reason you want to walk away.

I ordered Feb 2022 (GXL Dusty Bronze, Premium Interior), heard basically nothing until yesterday apart from two calls I made with the dealer after 9-12 months to enquire where thing where, only to be told still at A00 or whatever, i.e. nothing.

Yesterday finally got an email saying car will be built in June, new quote of $6K+ more and an Acknowledgement Notice, which I read as take it or leave it.

What I don't understand is how this is legal. I signed a contract Feb 2022 for a price, waited 15 months and now they want to ammend the contract just because they could sell my vehicle for $6K more. What if you I just don't agree to this now?

I would completely understand if this was presented at time of signing a contract, i.e. as part of the agreement. Seems to me this is one of those situations where its probably questionable as there was no $6K rise from Toyota but they do it anyway and rely on people not taking action. It would probably cost $6K in fees to enforce the contract even if you somehow succeeded.
