Hi Guys, my first post here as I am in Market for my First prado.
Wife wants air bags for kids seats and I want a prado so in 120 Series its Only Grande with 8 airbags or 150 GXL with 11 airbags.
Diesel is far to expensive and I do not have a Camper Trailer or Boat. So Petrol is a Go.
Off-roading : Yes that is my excuse to get one and may be I will do some very light to medium off-roading.
I have driven few Grande's and they are beautiful to drive.
The only uncertain thing is their prices. We are looking Minimum 2005 or higher.
I have following questions :
1) Is $40K too much for a 2005 Grande with 80k - 130K?? Yes I have checked redbook and carsales but dealers and private sale both are selling at very similar prices with $100-$500 difference.
2) AAMI is putting a 2005 Grande for $38,900 agreed value by default ( I haven't bought it just checked with them) and this is what Redbook Shows too.
3) I have visited few dealers now and none of them is willing to take More than $1000 off no matter what. Its like car dealers have started like Harvey Norman or Good guys,i.e. In store price is $41999, but internet special is $39990 so its on Sale already. Has anyone been successful in bringing the price down and actually buying it.
4) Is 2010 GXL (150) better than 120 Grande as usually price difference is approx $15,000 - $20,000.
5) I saw RACV report of one Grande (send to me by dealer, report almost 4 months old with 90,000K approx) , the report was all Marked as Green = Go, but in engine section ( which was also Green) it has O = Observation , Mechanical Valve Noise . Dealer advised this is just an observation and they have put the car through full check and there is no sound. Is this something I should be worry about when checking the specific car.
Any input will be great as I am very actively looking for one.
Thank you.
