Fully understand what you say here Piggy, especially how this thread could quickly fill up with useless links. Are we permitted to comment on specific ebay stores or does that contravene the rules? As an example, instead of linking to a specific item (as I did above) could we link to an ebay store, eg:

    http://stores.ebay.com.au/offroadaustralia

In theory the store should be present for as long as that dealer is in business. Just not sure if we can comment on a particular store, especially if it's a negative comment?

Added to explain - when I ask about the rules above I meant general rules not rules for the 'For Sale' section.

That would most likely be classed as advertising and they would need to be passed thru Aaron first to see what his thoughts are.

I did wonder if it would be OK. I know other forums where you can't post negative comments due to legal reasons - although it's a public forum the owner is apparently still liable.

Brook, did I break a rule by creating this thread? Post 3 sets out my perceived value in the thread.

I know at least one other forum with exactly the same thread going, yes the links are useless after a short time but then again for private sales the item is probably sold anyway. I think you would find plenty of other threads with useless ebay links in them, best to have them all in one place hey:idea:

That hi-lift is interesting, Hi-lift is actually a brand name and not the style of jack, bit like everyone calls skid steers "bobcats" even if they aren't. I doubt very much that it would be a genuine high lift for that price, Hi-lift jacks are dangerous things at the best of times, I would be wary about a cheap version of an already dangerous item. There are a couple of old threads on hear talking about recalls on dodgy hi-lift jacks.

            Cheers Andrew

Thanks Andrew, it did seem too good to be true and by the time you add postage not that much less really. I did know Hi Lift is a brand name but everyone does use the name a bit like Biro.

I checked and I have the 35W hi/low and 55w for the IPF extremes on my watch list. The price per fleabay is $179 +/- shipping. While I haven't shopped around, I prefer these guys as they seem to use the German chip rather than Chinese

Wonder if 35w or 55w would be more suitable? I have emailed website twice with no response...

Well for a topic that hasn't had a lot of positive feedback I can say:
                      1. Over 1,000 hits
                      2. Of value for me because a HID supplier has now come up twice
                      3. Of value to a potential Hi lift jack purchase and raising issues to consider.
Any thread that saves a member from doing the wrong thing or at least informs them in their decision making has paid its way

A bargain for a genuine Safari snorkel if its in your QLD neighbourhood
Unfortunately for me with shipping cost it was about the same as the local price.

Not in any way related to this add but might be worth a look if anyone in perth is chasing a battery tray and redarc for a 120. $150.
