+/-5 psi is a fair bit if you want 16psi on sand. If it was only 21 and you got stuck, no worries let some air out But if it was 11 you could run into some problems. I know it should be pretty obvious if the pressure is too low but not everyone can look at a tyre and tell you the pressure in it and rely on a gauge

Thats where I press a couple of rocker switches and lock the diffs, get over then. Actually as a matter of fact, I have hardly ever lowered my tyre pressures on sand. Just leave it in 1st gear High range, and plant the foot, if that dont work, lock the rear diff, if that dont work, lock the front diff, if that dont work, then lower the tyre pressure...... Yes, I am Lazy...lol

I personally don't get too hung up on individual guage accuracy.
Use one gauge, determine what pressure reading on that gauge work "best" for your vehicle e.g. 36 psi good for the black top, even wear not to hard riding.
Then drop your pressures from there, 26 psi on gravel, 18-20 for sand etc, by using one gauge you will end up with all tyres at the same pressure at the same time.

And I must be lucky I have 3 gauges and two read the same with the third 1 psi different.

                    • Don't know if i'd call it a bargain. They don't look genuine, but at least they're different.

                      • Not sure if I got caught out on ebay or not - I ordered a 32GB micro SD Card for my DVR CAM for a very good price. I was notified of posting within a day. I then got an email from ebay saying the store had been removed as they had been identified as supplying counterfeit items and not to pay them - too late! It went on to say that if I had already paid I should wait 10 days then report it as a missing item. The package arrived today, looks genuine enough and tests out OK as a memory card. What do I do now? Should I report it as they said which may end in a refund or accept that it works OK and forget about it?

                        • I would say it would depend on how much you paid for it.
If it was cheap enough, then just cop it and move on. If it was a decent amount of money, then maybe chase it up.

It was fairly cheap - about $36 I think. I'm not worried about the money and like I said it looks genuine and seems to work OK. For all I know it may be genuine and it was some other item they got removed over. My only concern is if it fails in a short time I would have no come back. As you say, for the sake of $36 probably not worth worrying over.

                            • It probably is counterfeit, but it probably looks genuine and works like it should. It's Ebay not wanting unscrupulous sellers on their site. Now you've got it, imo, you may as well use it
