Before making the decision that it works ok, make sure you check the maximum write capacity by actually writing data to the card. A common method of making fake memory cards is by changing the stickers so it looks like a larger capacity card then modifying disk paramaters so windows shows it as being larger than it is, where it fails is when you try and write to the maximum capacity. Easiest way to check your 32gb card is actually 32gb is by writing to the full capacity of the card (keep in mind that the actual capacity of a 32gb card is only about 30gb or so), if it fails significantly short of this amount then you have a fake.

Thanks for that mate, I did try copying a 2GB folder onto it and it did report the correct amount left - I will have to try and fill it up to see if it's genuine.

Well, that was disappointing I can't put more than about 6GB on it before it starts having problems. I guess that answers my what to do question - I will report it as they suggested and see what happens.

The counterfit cards are often formated to look like a large memory stick but are really only a smaller size. The best way to test is to fill the card up with files, remove the card from the computer, insert card again and copy all of the files back to a folder on your computer. This will validate the real size of the memory stick.

Definitely check that it holds 32Gb.

I bought a really cheap LedLenser torch on eBay and the same things happened. The torch works fine and looks identical to another that I bought through PP.

Not sure if I got caught out on ebay or not - I ordered a 32GB micro SD Card for my DVR CAM for a very good price. I was notified of posting within a day. I then got an email from ebay saying the store had been removed as they had been identified as supplying counterfeit items and not to pay them - too late! It went on to say that if I had already paid I should wait 10 days then report it as a missing item. The package arrived today, looks genuine enough and tests out OK as a memory card. What do I do now? Should I report it as they said which may end in a refund or accept that it works OK and forget about it?

Trek, I bought the same one and got the same message. It arrived today and I note the following:
1. It looks fake/counterfeit
2. Its 16Gig, NOT the advertised 32 gig
So I escalated my Paypal claim to requesta refund and record the details. Expect to get ALL my money back and keep the shite 16 gig Micro for free.

Damn scammers are NOT ripping me off!

That's one good thing about PayPal. I've only had 1 dud in a lot of transactions and they paid up no questions.

Well, my bloody memory cards x2 still haven't turned up yet! I didn't receive any notification or anything but did note that the seller is 'no longer a registered user' of eBay. I escalated my claim a couple of days ago after there was no responce from the seller.

Look on the bright side though Mitch - you did order the wrong ones for the DVR so this way you should get your money back and can order the correct ones

I'd still prefer to have a 32GB SD card though as I need one for the OZI mapping in the Tablet even if it is only half the advertised size LOL

I just bought this one for my camera. It IS 32Gb and r/w speed is terrific. Not cheap but the real thing. Delivered in 2 days.

Raydes, thanks for the tip, was just in supercheap buying my father's day present, a set of maxtrax, and was going to buy a set of theirs for over $70 but couldn't find them so luckily just walked with the trax and free gauge.
