the only way would be to use a rca switch so you could change input between front and rear camera when needed
theres no input for second camera available with this unit

How is the screen on this unit - heard the others have problems with direct sunlight ?

i havent had any major dramas with it so far. you do get a little bit of reflection on a certain angle but i can still see the screen ok, little harder with ozi as the map background is very light but its not like i am looking at the map all the time while i am driving anyway.

Mines the same not really noticed any problems really. A mate has a similar unit in his Patrol and his is the same

I find mine ok, had a mate with a red t-shirt on sitting in the passenger seat the other day and driving into the morning sun pretty much killed the screen from reflection. Thinking of getting an anti-glare film to stick on it and see if it affects the touch screen. Otherwise I'm very happy with the unit. Still don't have the rear cam hooked up.

nice idea DavenReef. i didnt think of that. might get an ipad anti glare screen proctor. stop the glare or what there is and also stop the fingerprints over the screen. i still have the protection layer on from when i received as dont like prints on the screens then trying to clean off all the time. our ipad on the other hand is easy to clean. to ebay i go again

I purchased one of these units and it arrived today. After a quick install I powered it up and whilst the lights came on around the dials the screen remained blank. ???

I have rechecked alol connections but would like to make sure it is running before I close everything up.


Any tips?

Thanks for an interesting thread. I'm also looking at an in dash unit toreplace my aging Navman and to have a reversing camera option. I'll keep a watch on here for a couple of weeks to see how everyone is getting on with their units before committing the $$. In the mean time I've got a quick question. Has anyone wired the DVD output to screens in their headrests?

Hey Bigpat ( Nice name ) I live my unit it is awesome for the $'s it has a great screen, easy to use, and has everything! The only thing I did was buy a different reverse camera instead of the optional one they sell through eBay although I haven't connected it yet due to being lazy but plan to do it before the off road adventure for Easter

after having for a couple of weeks now i can say i love it. works how it should without being over complicated. simple user settings and best part is individual sound settings for each of the inputs. ipod control is perfect with all the abilities you get from the ipod itself. bluetooth works a treat and i must say sound quality is superb - only downside i have so far is when you receive a call it only shows the number not the name ( even though you can search the address book and call data list). maybe missed a setting as havent played with the bluetooth to much yet.
ozi explorer works a treat as well - just wish i could get more maps without having to spend a fortune on them ( cant beleive how exspensive digital maps are)
overall a top purchase and no regrets

I think that the display showing the number & not the name is because it doesn't do an address book lookup on incoming call. It does when you manually go in and look for it though. You may be able to transfer contact details into the stereo itself, and it would then show up the name rather than number.

This is how my bluetooth stereo (factory) in the new hyuundai work car operates, and from what I've seen, that's the norm

I also love this unit. I have had it for a few weeks now and all works as per add. Only a couple of small gripes. playing movies from the usb or SD card is a bit slow and clunky, but I haven't played with the settings yet. Also having to convert everything into AVI or Divx is a bit annoying but not a deal breaker. Only other thing is on the BT menu page the track skip forward button image is reversed so I have two skip back imaged buttons(if you get what I mean) will take a photo when I get a chance. Not sure if this is normal on everyone elses unit. Haven't installed ozi-explorer (yet), are the buttons unusably small? what is the interface like? I appreciate any feedback before I go and purchase Ozi. Cheers.

You can download a trial version of Ozi and try it before you commit to buy. It's actually the same thing, you just have to enter the registration details to get full functionality.
