I just bought the newer version of this unit which has only just been released in the last few days, should be here next week so looking forward to rippin out the dash and getting it in there! I'll keep all posted how this unit goes, hopefully they've ironed out a few bugs. The only way I managed to contact the seller was through ebay aswell, they got back to me pretty quickly but that was before they got my dollars.

I know what you mean about mail... i was waiting on a set of dvd headrests for a two week trip. They turned up a day after we left!

Well I just saw the newer version and I can't help myself! If anyone is interested in buying my old head unit which cost me $700 under 3 months ago let me know as I am about to order the new one!!

Nothing wrong with the old one and hasn't got a mark on it

Just a couple of quick questions...
Does it pick up both digital and analouge TV?
How much are you asking for it?
How much room behind the unit is there?
I see that the newer one isn't as deep... 154mm vs 170mm (thinking of the antenna and usb connections)

Looking at upgrading my standard head unit to the newer version but just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with them ie installation, GPS, hands-free, etc? Any information will be greatly appreciated as I'll be greatly appreciated.

Hi Amanda,
My unit has several things that don't work, but the eBay store I bought it from have been helpful and said they will give me a new one.
So I think it's luck of the draw how well it will work but most of the other guys here are pretty happy with theirs.

bought one of these autotunez units back in June, and had it professionally installed. recurring problem with the screen just showing wavy lines. response in email from seller stated that it needed steady 12 volt power supply, so I charged battery and it was OK for a few weeks. but problem keeps coming back, sometimes when I'm driving.

it has got worse since I had dual battery setup installed. anyone else had similar problems ?

If it needs a steady 12V supply, then to put it bluntly, it is not suitable for use in a car. If it is an Australian seller you should be able to demand a full refund under Australian consumer law, on the basis that it is not fit for purpose.

Anyone who has ever done electronics design for things intended for car use, knows that you have anything but a steady 12V supply. The "normal" supply is noisy and can vary anywhere from 11 to 15 volts, with downward fluctuations of several volts and upward spikes of a few hundred volts. If a device is not made to cope with this sort of power supply, it is not suitable for car use.

Has anyone in Adelaide had one of these installed - I took mine to a guy to install in on Friday and he had trouble pushing the unit in enough so that the silver cover over the whole air con/stereo unit could be closed completely (the actual stereo sits nicely though) - he said there was not enough room at the back

I'm not in Adelaide but I just installed one their units in my 120 this afternoon and it fits in fine. There is room for the wiring on top of the stereo in behind where the clock is. Fits like the factory unit.

Haven't had much of a play with it yet, but so far I am very happy with it.

Thanks for your reply - was this the new model or the older model (I believe the new model is not as deep)
