  • Prado 150 Recovery Points

Found these recovery points while browsing eBay :-

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Pr...item3a801b3fa5

They look like a cross between the Roadsafe ones and the Outback Ideas points. At $99 PP they seem to be a good deal, looks like only 1 set left on this listing though.

I was going to buy these actually but wasn't sure... they look exactly the same as all the others out there! Is there anything in particular to look out for with these things

Make sure they come with the nuts on a plate and wire so you can get the nuts into the chassis rails. I have already asked the seller and these ones do.

Fitment to some bars can be problematic, as I don't have an ARB bar I'll leave it to others to comment.

The seller told me these will fit with an ARB bar, unsure about TJM. No photos as I haven't purchased these, still waiting to get my modified ones back from Roadsafe.

                  Hi All,

Quick question on recovery points - I have seen some specifically rated to 5000kg such as this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-PR...item3f225c06e0 and then some (like the link above) with no rating mentioned.

Obviously I would like to buy the best bang for buck without sacrificing quality / safety. Can anyone advise on what the Outback Ideas recovery points are rated to? I cant seem to find it via google. Is 5000kg the norm for recovery points?

Edit: forgot to mention, mines a GX with what I believe is an ARB non winch bar. Any preferred recovery points and it looks like the VX / KAKA require different points?

                  Cheers,
                  Kevin

Hi Kevin, I'm getting a ARB bar put on my new 2013 150 series this week and have also asked the 'Road safe', guys for info on their recovery points. I will report back on the site when I get more info. will also take photos for you. in regards to question on 5000kg I also don't know and will be interetsed in any response from the group.
                    Cheers Andrew

Sadly I still haven't heard back from Roadsafe on the modifications which had to be made to fit their product to my TJM bar equipped Kakadu. I'm trying to be patient but seeing as how I purchased them around Christmas last year it's starting to wear thin.

I couldn't see why they wouldn't fit a non winch bar, the mounts to the chassis are the same, there are a few other threads in the 150 section, most likely under modifications, that have loads of photos on where they mount.

                            Cheers
