picked up one of these this morning, going to mount it in the prado. Couldn't say no for $58 for a camera and screen, cheaper than ebay!

Yeah I was thinking this too, its got two camera inputs so might buy a cheap ebay one and put it on the front

No you would have to install a switch I would assume, the unit only comes with one camera, it just has 2 inputs.

I rigged it up last night, all I can say is im impressed with the quality of the camera and screen for the price. I was thinking of fixing it off via 1 or 2 small screws off the the a pillar to the right of the windscreen, this way its out of the way and nice and visible. Mine didn't come with velcro but had 3m tape, however it will just fall off after time. I bent my camera bracket so I can mount it just above the tow bar, and I tapped into the reverse light under the plastic cover inside the rear door. Will put some pics up this weekend of the install if it helps out. So far I've wired the camera and monitor up to reverse wire and earth, and when reverse is selected the monitor turns on, move out of reverse and it turns off. Great little unit.

No just a camera and screen, no recording however they sell a gator one at super cheap which records here is the link as they are on sale as well

Looks like we all got one why not at the price and the 2 inputs work one the yellow RCA switched on auto when cam is powered on and the other input u select with the switch on the side of the unit to toggle between the 2 cam that comes with it is PAL i would stick with a PAL cam for the 2nd input

Yeah exactly Billbo, I wonder in relation to the monitor if I hook it up to accessory power and the camera at rear up to reverse light will it still turn out automatically when I reverse and then off when reverse is disengaged? The reason I am thinking this is because if you hook up a camera at the front and use buttons to toggle obviously the monitor power is no good having it hooked up with reverse gear, however if I hook it up to accessories I dont want to have to turn it off all the time when I disengage reverse. Will test this.

i running mine off acc power i want it on all the time or off when i want but what i noticed was it auto switches to rev when a cam input is detected i quess it should go back 2 2nd input when cam signal is off from rev cam but i like the fact u can override when rev cam is on ans switch inputs if u had a van or trailer with a cam that would be great feature to togles between the 2 active cams with the button on the side of the unit

Yeah I will test mine of accessory power and see whether the monitor automatically turns on or whether it waits for a camera input. I might rig my front camera up off my air locker compressor switch as generally if I engage the lockers a front camera will be a bonus as thats normally when things get hairy.

Not sure if this answers your question or not but I hooked it up straight to the battery just to try it out. I had the two power wires from the camera going to the plus and minus on the battery terminals nothing on the screen. I then put the earth wire from he actual camera, nothing, I then put the positive wire from the camera along with the negative and about 1 to 2 seconds the screen lit up with picture from camera. When I took just these two wires off from the camera the screen cut out. So my presumption is that the two wires from the actual camera trigger the screen to come on when you have these wired up to the reverse light which gives it the trigger to turn the screen on. When you take out of reverse obviously the power to the camera is terminated and the screen turns off. Im not sure how the other imput would work ?? It says for video ??....There is also a 4 pin very small plug that joins the camera wire and screen together. I had this connected when trying this all out..Cheers Steve
