Well we are back safe and sound after an eventful trip.I wish to thank Resort Trailers,Cooma Crash Repairs and Phil Ogen Electrics.
Day 1: Leaving at 3am to get to Geehi Hut(kids travel when asleep)we lost a wheel off the trailer just out side Queanbeyan. After the stuffing around to get back on the road we ended up staying at my uncles cabin at Lake Eucumbene for the night.
Day 2:Up early to leave shoved breakfast down our throats headed for Geehi Hut(attempt 2).Just before the turn to Berridale on the Snowy Mtn's Hwy,a stone had hit the windscreen and damage was done so off to Cooma for repairs. The repairs took 1 hr then we made a b line to Geehi again.By mid arvo we had made our destination, after setting up camp,I buried my sorrows in a 6 pack, slept well that night.
Day 3 - Day 5: Great spot to pitch a tent and in our case camper trailer heaps of room the kids to ride bikes and explore. We stayed near Upper Geehi Hut right on the river.
Day 6:Headed for Mansfield ,more drama the soulunoid had shit it self so did the auxillary battery in the car as well as the one in the camper.Got as far as Benella stopped to get fixed, walked out $550 lighter.By the time that was repaired it was getting on and dark and the kids where hungry so we booked into a hotel in Mansfield.
Day 7:Left the hotel early got supplies and headed for the campgrounds.Found a spot at Sheepyard Flat(didn't go any further ,heard reports of road closure along the Circuit Road .)
Day 8-Day 13: Did the touristy thing, did what Huts we could(Craigs Hut,Fry's Hut and Mt Striling ) and driving around, some magnificent country side down that way.
Day 14:Packed up camp and headed for Bright.Arrived at Bright mid arvo and set up camp.
Day 15-Day 19:Hung around camp for the first day,the following day we headed for Wallace Hut and cope Hut and the Great Alpine Drive. When arriving at Wallace Hut we encounted a mob of wild brumbies (1 stallion,2 mares and 2 fouls)great experience for the kids and misses.
Day 20: Headed home for a much needed rest from travelling and to give the hip pocket a break.
A big THANK YOU to everyone that helped us on our trip.
