Ideas for July 3 day trip, East Victoria

I am planning to go away with a couple of vehicles and the kids in tow for a 3 day trip in July. We would like to stay in the Gippsland area, maybe Rawson or Sheepyard Flats but I saw that a lot of the tracks are closed for the season around those areas. I would like to know if anyone has some ideas on locations that might be worth considering.

Has anyone done the “Victoria’s Iconic 4WD Adventures Snowy River Drive” in winter? Thought it could be good.

Both vehicles have had a lift and good tyres.

I went and did a trip up Licola way Aug last year... was very very cold!

That drive looks very good. Haven't done it but it's on my list of things to do!

I'd rug up if I was going to go camping in the snowys this july... brrr!

We went that way last summer the roads are generally very good and the camping was great.
There are still a number of tracks closed so check the dse web-site for the latest details.

A lot of the tracks in the area you are thinking of will be closed over winter.

Also some of my friends have been out at Omeo this weekend and some of the rivers have been so deep that they have not been able to continue. One area that is open during winter that I like playing in is the area around Mt Matlock and the Big River Camping ground.
