I've got a couple of weeks off over Christmas and want to do some 4wd from Albany to Busselton and was wondering if anyone knows some good tracks or great camping spots on the beach. I'm keen to do some fishing and beach driving along the way.

Dont want to give away too many of my favorite spots, so please dont pass these on.....
Just got back from 4 x day trip to Walpole, and it just reinforces that we live in the best place on WA.
All these places will be popular over Summer, so you will just have to take your chances on getting a spot, as its first in best dressed.
Also, fire restrictions will be in place, and we all need to take this seriously
Jasper Beach is ok for camping. No fees (Yet)
There is a small area just before you go on to the beach.
The beach is soft, but 10 psi will be fine.
Jasper, Black Point, White Point is a day trip Busselton, so you could always do that another time. We usually do it once a year, either in from Scott River or Donnelly Bridge
Yeagerup is a fav, and camping is either on beach, in dunes or in the camp site about 4 kms from beach.
$11 fee
Moores hut, Fish Creek are all good. $11 fee applies per day. You may get all sorts of crowds there, but you get that everywhere.
Broke Inlet described above, and also there is Banksia Hut East of Mandalay Beach.
It is first in best dressed at the huts. The Banksia hut is available with 4 bedrooms, but also about 20 campsites, and they are right on beach which is in deep water just behind Chatham Island. Very soft track in which is supported by lots of conveyor belt, but 15 psi will do it
Check out DEC Southern Forests brochure, it will show a few more spots as well, depending on how long you have.
There are quite a few spots where camping is otherwise tolerated most of the year, but maybe over Summer could be different.
Hope this helps. Once again, please do not pass these on, otherwise we will have to share it with all sorts....even people from Pradopoint....
Maybe see you around BussoCheers

Cheynes Beach has some good tracks, some beach driving including a big dune. It's east of Albany. West Cape Howe also worth a look for the scenery. Some good tracks around Gull Rock and towards Nannarup Beach which are close to Albany. Given it'll be christmas, you will be contesting with 3/4 of WA's population by travelling anywhere near the coast at this time. Camping spots will be competative.Dave

Bugger Bali, get out and see Australia before we sell it all to China.

Where abouts do you go driving in and around Busselton
Plenty of pine forests South and West of here. Plenty of room to set up for day with BBQ, motorbikes, bit of shooting etc
All good funCheers

Gotta back up previous recommendations on this thread for the dunes at Yeagarup. Some really good challenges at either end of the track and being summertime will be nice and dry so don't be worried about letting plenty of air out of your tyres and getting the revs up! You could well need to.. Also another good challlenge is what they call "Calcup Hill" which is the track into and out of the Warren Beach, depending on the state of the Warren River (which separates Yeagarup from the Warren) you could enter one way and exit the other or go round and round if you find it that much fun!!!! Up to you! Enjoy.. Grizz..

There are another 3 or 4 similar-ish huts around that area, including one with a wood fired hot water system which was amaaaaazing after enduring about four nights in a row of close to zero degree nights (no kidding!).
