Maroon Cliffs

Back in 1988 I was travelling in the Kimberley's with the Linean Society (like National Geographic) and was taken to a place called The Maroon Cliffs somewhere near tunnel creek area.
The story I was told was that originally it was the Marooned Cliffs because it was a devonian coral atoll thus 'marooned' away from the rest of the reef that made up the ranges there, the name then became the Maroon cliffs.

We're planning to visit the area again but I cannot remember where they are and have not been able to find any reference to them on maps.

Does anyone know this area enough to give me co-ordinates to them and are they still accessable, any help would be appreciated

From your description it sounds like Windjana gorge, not ever heard of the Maroon cliffs before.

Nah not Windjana, from memory it isn't in the napier range but is near by.
I've got some photos of it but no co-ordinates
